'Verbatim copying': Bombshell report says Hegseth broke Princeton's academic honesty rules

Trump's pick for the top Pentagon spot has previously faced allegations of sexual assault and of having a drinking problem. Now it's being reported that, while in school at Princeton, he copied other pieces for his thesis.

The local Daily Princetonian flagged a particular sentence in the senior thesis authored by Hegseth. In that piece, Hegseth wrote in part, "Bush looked distracted and somber but continued to listen to the second-graders."

"This sentence is notable for recapping the precise moment President George W. Bush was informed of the 9/11 attacks. But it is also notable because it is nearly identical to one published by The Washington Post in 2001, two years before Hegseth wrote his thesis," the bombshell report from Saturday states. "A review of Hegseth’s thesis by The Daily Princetonian, in consultation with three experts on plagiarism, found eight instances of uncredited material, sham paraphrasing, and verbatim copying. But while the three experts all said that the passages violated Princeton’s academic honesty regulations, they differed on whether the violations were serious or too minor to matter."

The report goes on to quote experts on the extent of the copying, and suggest the severity of the violations is being debated.

46 years ago, I attended Sweet Briar College, which had a strict Honor Code. You could be asked to leave (a/k/a as being thrown out) if you plagiarized. I was hypervigilant when I wrote my thesis. Almost every page had at least 3-4 footnotes. I despise Hegseth, but I despise him more now.

this so long as Kegsbreath remains in his position.

If he is jettisoned by TCF for any reason at any future time, then a non-discraceful reaction becomes unshocking.

G.O.P. does not do honesty, or integrity. So this will not phase any of them.

But still, not even mentioning his and the G.O.P.'s track record on adultery
this is a VIOLATION of #9 of the Ten Commandments the republicons
like to lie about and claim they respect.

Lying about schools attended, schools graduated from, their majors, blatant plagiarism, using diploma mills, supplying false transcripts, and on and on has become rampant these days, especially among the new elite conservatives, our oligarchs, and their minions.

That Kegstand
Had no commanding military experience
Had financially mismanaged 2 Veterans organizations
Had been removed from those organizations not only for the mismanagement but for
Drunkenness and sexist behavior
Had been drunk on the set of the weekend show
Had been told by his mother (in writing)what a rotten man he was the way he treated women
Had promised not to drink if appointed so the Republicans confirmed him
Sent detailed highly classified strike plans on a non-secure platform to other cabinet members and a journalist

I'm pretty sure a little cheating in college isn't going to be the straw that breaks the camels back
