This could have ended up real bad.
Troubling video shows Bernalillo County deputies trying to safely disarm two young boys holding a loaded handgun.
The sheriffs office says this is just one example of the challenges they face every day.
Drone footage shows the boys, around 7 and 9-years-old. This happened on Feb.16. but BCSO just released it Thursday.
The sheriffs office says their drone allowed them to manage the high-risk situation. They were able to get the gun away from the kids without anyone getting hurt.

Or am I too cynical?
I watched video at the kob.com link and the very next story was about Albuquerque trying to get out from under federal oversight of their policing tactics. Is it coincidental that the video of this incident (which happened in February) was released on the eve of this petition to remove DOJ oversight?

(4,650 posts)Youd think in our Democratic state, the Democrats would have fixed this by now. We act like Rs in how we treat children. We are 49th & 50th in education, child welfare, etc. We get enough oil/gas money to overhaul the systems but just keep putting it off for the next legislative session. Its really disgraceful.
Our gun laws are some of the most lax in the nation. And legislators wont address the revolving door crime problem much to do with addiction.
It is so sad. 😭
