(17 posts)And if Kamala was president, she'd be there with them, enjoying the common purpose and friendship that obviously binds them. Instead, we have, unfortunately, what we have. I'm in my late 70's; my fervent hope is that I outlive him and his fascist regime..

(19,566 posts)at least in this picture. There are other leaders which include women, but not in a fair representation.
I absolutely agree. At this point in an apparent world gone mad, that issue, for me, (and I'm a woman), is one to continue fighting after Trump and all of his ilk are, hopefully, in prison, or possibly having succumbed to any of their various addictions.

(2,881 posts)...which could possibly have something to do with Trump not being present!
Speaking of European leaders, does anyone remember this? (Trump boorishly pushing the president of Montenegro out of his way). Notice that Trump is the only one with the open jacket, because his doesn't fit! (This is the pre-Wegovy Trump).

(86,209 posts)Hed demand to be in the center, first among equals, with the others positioned around him, desperately trying to assert that its all about him. GLAD hes not there.
Hell, he doesnt belong there. And Im sure they know they can actually get some business done with both him and his ego not there.
Works for me!

(20,338 posts)Honestly, that might not be a bad thing. Certainly for Ukraine right now. And if we ever get out of this mess, it's better to have equal partners who are actually equal, and not be the sole colossus with a unilateral bent. That's gotten us into nothing but trouble from Vietnam to Iraq. Mainly because no one else on our team was strong enough to say no and have that mean anything. Can't find consensus? That's fine. Maybe the best answer sometimes is to do nothing instead of rushing in, foolishly confident in our own, unvetted view.
They've got some catching up to do militarily, but are certainly wealthy enough and technological advanced enough to equal and surpass the US. Truth is, we and the former Soviet Union are the reason they need to catch up. Through most of the Cold War, certainly the decades right after WW2, it wasn't in our collective interests as the 2 sole super powers to allow a rearmed Europe. The German Bundeswehr wasn't established until 1955. A full 10 years after WW2 ended. France tired of us and went their own way. Can't blame them.
