I don't know if you can see the tweets, but Michael's includes a photo includes a photo of 2 ICE goons with assault rifles, camo, and masks. In the fucking Berkshires, also known as "The Baghdad of the USA."

I know Great Barrington well and it is extremely hard to imagine any scenario on this earth in this small town that would require cops to roll out like they're going to war.

(22,968 posts)A sleepy cozy little town. Lovely place. Definitely not a place that looks like it is being "invaded" by "illegals".
Disgusting, fascist behavior.

(479 posts)If trump and the rethugs stay in office. The biggest problem ahead of us is getting them out of office.
Especially when trump will make sure there is no more elections. While he controls the police and the military.

(2,822 posts)If Trump stops elections I think that 6 or 7 of the justices on the supremacist court would push back. But if elections are modified in several ways (i.e. SAVE Act), I think that elections can be guaranteed in favor of Republicans with far less pushback. And the Republicans can join Putin and Kim in saying "Don't complain, we have elections".

So was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston
The Berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting
With ten miles behind me and ten thousand more to go🎵🎵

(19,562 posts)You'll probably get a quick text description, a map or two, several links to follow.
Much easier than asking this same question on DU.
Bing, Google, etc. etc. Pick your search engine. (I use kagi.)

(8,695 posts)social context is more important than a map location.
People, for example, don't know where their voting location is. The social context of why that is is more important. < ---- Example

(20,554 posts)I'm from the Midwest myself, so I don't know much about the Berkshires, either, but i started typing "berkshires" into Google and the first suggestion that popped up was "berkshires massachusetts." I clicked that and then selected "News" from the menu at the top of the page, and pulled up a news story about this: https://www.wamc.org/news/2025-05-06/witness-ice-agents-detain-residents-of-great-barrington-as-immigration-crackdown-continues-in-berkshire-county
I'm surprised I only found one story, but it's something at least.
I'm sorrt to hearyou don't trust Google, but if you haven't given it a chance, I urge you to do so. You can type in just about anything, and it'll pull up links related to it. It also makes suggestions as you type that can save a lot of key strokes. Not everything it pulls up is equal in quality (of course), but that would be the case with any search engine.
Of course, you can't assume everything Google pulls up is going to be gospel truth, just like you can't assume that about almost anything on the internet, so you have to use your own judgment when looking at the individual results. Google is just a place to start, but it can be a great springboard to learning more about just about any topic. Whenever I need to quickly find out about something, I almost always start with a Google search.
