What are Republicans saying about the $400 million dollar bribe from Qatar?

Do they really think it is just a "gift"? Because they like Donald Trump so much? That they don't want anything in return? Or that they have not been promised something in return?

It is a bribe, pure and simple.

But, how many have spoken out? Are they going to do anything about it? Are we to assume they believe it is all hunky-dory?

Americans that put up with this crap from the Republicans deserve everything that is coming their way. I hope they do understand, it is coming their way.

GOP congress is probably getting quite a few bribes from overseas themselves. Irish_Dem 6 hrs ago #1

it, but that Qatar would provide it. Beyond any question, too many foreign governments have decided that ass-kissing and gift-giving is the way to defuse Trump. (I've spent so much time watching Al Jazeera over the past 18 months because of what is happening in Gaza, and during that time I really began to have a generally positive opinion of leadership in Qatar)

The Constitution prohibits it without the approval of Congress.

Article I
Section 9
Clause 8
Titles of Nobility and Foreign Emoluments
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

A foreign government gives a flying palace (bribe) to a U.S. president. How easy it would be to hide technology to monitor classified information and more. Quatar might be an ally, but they are also allies with other countries, like Iran for example. That’s what they’re bribing him for, and who knows what else?

Congress is not doing their job. It's pathetic!

Maga republicans have lost all credibility and all moral authority. I never want to hear any holier than thou bullshit from them ever again.

And if we ever get control again, those maga traitors need to remember what they did and what they enabled. Frankly, I support punishment to the fullest extent of the law.
