As of the this morning my mother was still breathing, but with a diminished rate of oxygen in her lungs. They have been giving her medication to keep her from any pain. They said this could take awhile, but at least she not in pain.
Again, thank you so much everyone. I will give an update later today.

(1,298 posts)went through the same exact thing with my Mom in January before she passed. I know your pain and anguish. Hang in there and draw strength from your friends and family.

(3,295 posts)Please remember to take care of yourself. This poem helped me tremendously when my late husband was at the end. I hope it brings you comfort.
Gone From My Sight
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, 'There, she is gone'
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me - not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, 'There, she is gone,'
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, 'Here she comes!'
And that is dying...

(16,947 posts)She really will always be with you. Im sure she is comforted to be surrounded by her children.
Before you leave
You must know you are beloved
And before you leave
Remember I was with you
Are you afraid
However could you not be
In this rosy light
This is strange
I see a hand come through the mirror
Pointing at the light
Pointing at the light we never see
As you put your feathered arms over me
