The Texas State Board of Education is close to backing a plan “that would make Texas the first state in the country to mandate all public school students read passages of the Bible, the Houston Chronicle reports.

they would start to realize how far so-called 'christian Republicans'
have departed from the teachings of the messiah whose name they claim to follow...........

Matthew 7:23, where Jesus says, "Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Matthew 25:34-40 (The Sheep and the Goats)
"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me."
"Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me".

The MAGA cult will fall all over themselves to buy anything connected to their messiah, though. The Big Orange Pig has fleeced his flock, though, and he won't stop until he gets every drop of blood and all of their money, too.
It boggles the mind.

The kids would love the Song of Solomon.

"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine."1:2
"He shall lie all night betwixt my breasts." 1:13
"I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste." 2:3
"By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth." 3:1
"I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me." 3:4
"Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon." 4:11
"Come ... blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits." 4:16
"Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled." 5:2
"My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him." 5:4
"I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock." 5:5
"I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate. 8:2

11. From the Bill of Rights in the Texas state Constitution

“No man shall be compelled to attend, erect or support anyplace of worship, or to maintain any ministry against his consent. No human
authority ought, in any case whatever, to control or interfere with the rights of conscience in matters of religion, and no preference shall ever be given by law to any religious society or mode of worship.”
Their proposal seems to be quite unconstitutional to me.

Many of our right wing brethren want to put forced public prayer and the Bible back in the schools.

They have no qualms about using the gov't to foist their own religious beliefs on the children in public schools without letting the parents decide how they want their children raised.
