Electing Donald Trump a second time is the worst thing this country has done to itself

I can’t even say it’s the worst mistake, but it wasn’t a mistake. People voted for this motherfucker intentionally. I see how countries implode.

Never thought I’d feel grateful that Americans felt the need to add presidential term limits to the constitution. The only hope I have is that Trump’s time as President will come to end.

The worst thing this nation ever did to itself was not adequately punishing the traitors in the Confederacy and not doing more to shatter the regional culture.

…built an amendment into the Constitution that deemed humans with dark skin as 3/5 of a human. That systemic failure has led to many, if not all, of our subsequent problems.

I don't see how he won every battleground state. Anyone who orchestrated an insurrection 4 years earlier to steal an election, is more than capable of cheating to win.

What happens when you mindlessly vote for change because you don't bother to do further research onto your outrage, and then end up falling for the con-artist which happens to be much worse.

who know they've been let down by both parties for decades and are falling farther behind every year. I knew how bad Fatso was going to be, so I didn't agree with them, but I can certainly identify with where so many are coming from.

It's why we had the spectacle of pro Sanders voters switching to Fatso., something neither party understood.

Unfortunately, while continuing support for the stability of a system that contines to fail more and more of us every single year is self defeating, voting for a wrecking ball like Fatso tends to destroy more of the good than the bad.

The hell that voters chose this last election will bring down most everyone not in the 1% with it, including people from other countries. People just decided to now be responsible for bringing hell to everyone else.

Some voters always want to "throw the bums out." The idea that the new bums might be worse than the old bums is not even briefly considered.

Many voters hate inflation. I learned this as an adolescent in the '70s, when we had real inflation. The party in power will always be punished for any significant inflation. Blaming it, correctly, on the rapid economic upswing after the pandemic downturn was never going to work.

A reminder: The Republican Party is the disease. Donald is the symptom. MAGA is the horrendous side-effect.

We haven't as a nation moved past, and I think it was enough of an albatross to deliver his win. He still didn't win by much, but enough.

an informed and rational choice when voting. Half of Americans read at a fifth grade level or below, and anyway I would bet that two-thirds of Americans don’t follow politics at all. They don’t even watch Fox News. Their choices are determined by their peers — whatever nonsense they pick up in the inane chatter. It is human nature to adhere to the social consensus around us. There is safety in the tribe. The right-wing echo chamber figured this out decades ago and use it to their advantage.
