I have a crazy neighbor who is also a gun "collector". He walks around in his yard wearing a western-style six-shooter in a gunslinger holster. I have never and will never tell him he is a crazy son of a bitch.

They are getting there, though. For Merz to say "This war has nothing to do with NATO" is, like, 65% there to "raving lunatic" given the start line for diplomatic discourse.

The only question is whether he brings the conservative governments of Europe down with him. In my view, Meloni is the most vulnerable. Without Trump's nonsense she could run an Italian right-wing coalition for 30 years, but the center right is splitting from Israel's war crimes and Trump's insanity.
