I have a question - how come not one of the allies

has simply stated that he/she will not assist a raving lunatic who lacks a shred of decency, decorum or honesty - a convicted felon and a man under scrutiny for raping children who does not believe in the rule of law at home or international law.

But actual diplomats and statesmen just don't do that. Even if it's true.

No, not the one he pushes for his Diet Coke fix.

I have a crazy neighbor who is also a gun "collector". He walks around in his yard wearing a western-style six-shooter in a gunslinger holster. I have never and will never tell him he is a crazy son of a bitch.

In some sense, they don't even know how to say what you're proposing in a public setting.

They are getting there, though. For Merz to say "This war has nothing to do with NATO" is, like, 65% there to "raving lunatic" given the start line for diplomatic discourse.

It's making the rounds in the European press. The quiet seething literally across Europe is close to breaking.

The only question is whether he brings the conservative governments of Europe down with him. In my view, Meloni is the most vulnerable. Without Trump's nonsense she could run an Italian right-wing coalition for 30 years, but the center right is splitting from Israel's war crimes and Trump's insanity.
