He reveals that Rep. Neal Dunn had a terminal diagnosis (which hadn't been made public), then says the diagnosis indicated that Dunn would be "dead by June." Then he grins and slaps Mike Johnson on the back.

He's trying to make it sound like he's saved his life.

After the speaker chided the president about the non-public information, Johnson said: “Long story short, the president called him to encourage him and thank him. And the president mentioned in the course of conversation, ‘You know, I ought to get my doctors involved.’ And they did, and within a number of hours, they took him to Walter Reed, emergency surgery.”

“[Johnson] called to say that he was terminal, really bad heart, there’s nothing they can do,” Trump continued the story. “I said, ‘That’s bad.’ Number one, it was bad because I liked him. Number two, it was bad because I needed his vote.

“And then I realized I have doctors in the White House, and White House doctors are incredible and they’ve helped me with other people. They’re helping me with people right now, people that are very sick — like, they’re miracle workers,” he said.

“And I said, ‘I have to call them.’ And I called the two doctors, they’re both great, and they immediately went over to see the congressman, and he was on the operating table like two hours later, and it was a long operation.”

“It was a long operation. They gave him more stents and more everything,” Trump said, adding that Dunn has had “a new lease on life. He has more energy than a man half his age.”

https://nypost.com/2026/03/16/us-news/trump-stuns-johnson-by-letting-slip-gop-reps-ailment-that-wasnt-public/

Let's face it, a congressman will get top-notch medical care without any intervention from the president. So I don't believe for a moment that The Rapist got him surgery he wouldn't have had otherwise. The NY Post didn't get a quick response from Dunn's office, which must mean they can't just "yes, the diagnosis is now OK, he'll live for a lot longer". So now, he's got the most vindictive man in the world expecting public praise, over something which was probably nothing to do with him at all, and which was probably included in his actual diagnosis (of course, it's possible that the real diagnosis was something like "if we don't operate, you'll likely die by June, but if we do, you'll have a lot longer/indefinitely longer", and Dunn was going to have the operation anyway, and Trump just wanted to claim credit).

The whole exchange and situation is so weird. The Congressman is a doctor and a veteran and would have already had access to great doctors. What could Trump have actually done for him above what his own surgical team could do?
