What to know
ISRAEL SAYS IRAN NAVY CHIEF KILLED: Israel said it killed the naval chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Alireza Tangsiri, who it said oversaw the blocking of the crucial Strait of Hormuz oil trade route. Iran did not immediately confirm or deny the claim. Tehran has allegedly begun charging the trickle of ships it's letting through the waterway for safe passage.
TRUMP WARNS TEHRAN: President Donald Trump insists Iran is negotiating despite Tehran's public denials. "They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it wont be pretty! he warned in a Truth Social post this morning.
'INDIRECT TALKS': Pakistan's top diplomat said this morning that "indirect talks are taking place" between the U.S. and Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said yesterday that we do not plan on any negotiations. A state TV report suggested Iran had dismissed Trump's peace proposal and issued its own demands to end the war.

(4,414 posts)Do the Iranians know where senior Israeli officials and military leaders are? Do they not go after them out of some moral factor, or is Israeli security just too good, including Opsec and Comsec on locations, etc?

(4,414 posts)Officials seems so easy for Israel, a new one every day, but not a single Israeli official. I just wonder about this.

(2,502 posts)Full of moles and informants. I've read the Iranian government, prior to this, formed a special group to root out Mossad's agents and they wound up appointing a Mossad agent to lead it. Israel also hacked the traffic cameras and used them to track leadership for years apparently. Pretty sure Israel's satellite surveillance is far better as well. Not even sure if Iran has space assets that are useful. Not that it matters much now, the ground station is likely a crater already.
