Donald Trump is now getting his worst poll ratings ever as president in this battleground state, and that doesnt bode well for Wisconsin Republicans on the 2026 ballot. In a new survey by Marquette Law School, President Trumps approval ratings are continuing to slip in Wisconsin, where 42% of registered voters approve of his performance and 56% disapprove.
Marquette asks voters whether they strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove or strongly disapprove of the presidents performance. This question captures how deeply voters feel. Its also one indicator of how likely or unlikely voters are to change their minds. Intensity matters in public opinion.
At the beginning of Trumps second term, intensity about this president was almost evenly distributed: 38% strongly approved and 45% strongly disapproved. That has gradually changed. In the new poll, 25% strongly approve of Trumps performance and 48% strongly disapprove.

in Wisconsin. although it is technically non-partisan, in fact it is fiercely partisan.

He can use some good news. As a veteran and lifelong DEM, he has been a bit... um, tense about news lately. I will text him link about this.

(15,506 posts)4. Whenever I see polls like this, my reaction is...
...How in the world can 42% (or 45% or 39%) actually approve of his performance?????????????????

(3,117 posts)5. the question you should ask is
how can so many people be in a cult?
Hitler in 1936 Germany, present day North Korea.
I know we think Americans should know better, but apparently a lot of our fellow countrymen don't.

and we have a great candidate. I've heard that the Dems are more enthusiastic about voting than Repubs.
