(130,465 posts)One of them looks no older than 18 - I can't believe she's even old enough (let alone smart enough) to have even graduated from law school. Were these dim bulbs just GOP operatives who swore fealty to Trump and just happened to have law degrees?

(130,465 posts)Like never having set foot in a courtroom, let alone a federal courtroom; like having spent a few years after graduation drafting wills or defending DUIs, followed by a gig on a local MAGA GOPer's campaign staff. As with everyone else in Trump's government, professional qualifications are irrelevant as long as you have the requisite loyalty. I think I know how I'd have reacted if I'd been offered a federal judge position by some politician friend a few years into my legal career, during which I'd worked on civil appeals and business litigation, I'd probably have said something like, "Thanks, but are you fucking kidding me? I'm not qualified! I'd just make an ass of myself!" Are those people so lacking in self-awareness that they don't know they're making asses of themselves?

(3,322 posts)The lack of this kind of outrage across nearly every senator's desk is remarkable.
Thank you.

(15,380 posts)A systems engineer, and had to get a degree so I got one in Business and even with a stutter, I could answer those questions more competently and confidently than these four apparently can.
One would think if they went to an actual law school rather than a mail in correspondence school that they could at least speak confidently in public.

1) There is not one shred of evidence that the 2020 election was stolen. That has been called "The Big Lie" since 2020 and that drives Trump crazy even though he cannot prove anything. He even called Georgia and tried to get them to "find votes" which is called election fraud.
2) There are hours of footage showing that the attack on January 6th. Police testified to Congress about it. Trying to claim that there was no attack on January 6th by hundreds of people who attacked the police is the new Big Lie.
