It is good if they can come up with a 12-step program to fix our economy and cure our ills, but the majority tune out on such campaigning.
In my opinion, Democrats should point out that Trump chose to get into a war with Iran and tell nobody about it. Americans have died. We have spent money we supposedly was trying to save.
The price of everything has gone up, especially gasoline. He lied to the American people. He said he was going to bring prices down.
He tore down the East Wing of the White House and told everyone that he was going to build a $200 million dollar ballroom and his wealthy friends were going to pay for it. Just what we need! A friggin' ballroom!
Then Lindsay Graham said it was going to cost $400 million of taxpayer monies. The price doubled. Now the Republicans want to slip in a billion dollars for the ballroom under the pretense of "protecting the President".
The people understand these basic messages. Democrats should continue to remind them.

(403 posts)I think asking people if their lives are better on any objective measure will do the job. Low wages, high prices, no healthcare, expensive healthcare, chaos, etc are all ways to attack this thing. The harm of this administration has been so widely felt that our side will have many ways to chop this tree.

(6,525 posts)rural areas in their districts. As a rural resident, we never see Democrat candidates. Guess they have ceded the territory to Repugs. Would help if Dems recognize and work to elect more state-level candidates. State legislatures are killing many state governments (i.e., LA, FL, TN, GA)
My mailbox is crammed with Repug brochures brimming with lies about Dems, but there's nobody refuting those attacks. Most folks in rural areas are watching TV via satellite, which doesn't necessarily carry local programming unless viewers subscribe to it. Thus, political ads are limited to statewide or national candidates.
That's how we end up with Repug legislatures who are virtually unknown and elected by the R or D after their names.
