Swastikas, Hitler graffiti spray painted on NYC synagogue, homes

Swastikas and Hitler graffiti were spray-painted on a synagogue, a Jewish center, homes, and a vehicle in New York City, by at least four people still at large.

Congregation Machane Chodosh in Forest Hills was the synagogue that was spray-painted, which Rabbi Yossi Mendelson told the New York Post on Monday was “very upsetting.”

“The rabbi who founded our synagogue was himself a German refugee and dedicated the synagogue to the memory of the synagogues that were destroyed in Germany and the Jews who were murdered for being Jewish,” Mendelson said.

“The street is named Holocaust Memorial Corners so it feels so much more significant that this happened, it brings up our history and reminds us that we have to stick together and we have no choice but to lean into our identity and celebrate it.”

they were just tourists passing through and got lost so they started drawing a square block map on the wall and then figured out how to get out. Just another day…

just in case

My brother of blessed memory lived in Forest Hills just off Ascan Avenue up until the day he died. This would have sent him nearly over the edge.

Even if I somehow got convinced all Jewish people were bad, the nazis were losers.
