(37,677 posts)well, socialism, actually, since communism is a post-socialist utopian ideal where the government's withered away because the perfectly socialized populace doesn't need it, the government would be the oil companies and, well, they'd just set the prices.
At least that's what it used to be, as opposed to "state-run social safety net," making 'socialist' Sweden as it was a few decades back always pretty much completely capitalist.
Then again, maybe you'd have small patch of land to call your own, but the government would de facto own or control with 'ownership' being meaningless pretty much everything that's not really just personal (like clothes, car, furniture): housing, the gas stations, the oil refineries, the burger joint down the street, the place you get your hair cut and the doctor's office.
Not investigate. Popular ownership through those that 'represent the people'.
