Its a false narrative that Trump believes his own lies. He knows how much to lies, knows when to lie and knows that his lies are the dangerous part of his total pathetic life.
We have heard one after another from him and nothing is going to change or stop him. The damage he has caused will haunt us for years to come. This is beyond the point of no return, because his pathetic moron mindless base believes that he speaks to the truth.
Yesterday (last night actually), I was in a truck stop and once again stupidly showed up! There was a man in his late thirties(guessing) in line at the counter. He turns to me and asked did you hear about the vandalism at the Reflection Pool? I, in my most humble way, responded oh yeah, but it wasnt vandalism, it was poor planning and improper of reconstructing it! He was not happy about that answer and that Trump said that it was vandalism! He started to say something else, but I correctly said if that is the case? No need to continue this conversation?
He got pissed and said l was anti Trump and should be ashamed of myself. I chuckled and just ignored him. But as he walked out the door just in front of me, he yells out you traitor!
I just ignored him again. Now, at this point he was pissed that I ignored him for the 2nd. I went to my truck as he went to his. My CB was on when I got in my truck and I heard him call me trash and then went into a tirade with a bunch more unfavorable comments.
These idiots are plentiful and will never waiver from what they believe. And is where the damage is coming from in the future.

(24,472 posts)majority no. 250th Independence's Day coming up, most Americans will celebrate in their own way, but the feeling of comradery from this present control of our country by the republican party eludes many.
I think that shithole and comrades have misread the tea leaves, We the People will have the last words.

I think what we really need to do is to create a case for 'TDS' as a medical condition, and define what it is, i.e.: blinding following this fascism, not being able to discern when the orange gibbon or his cronies say one thing and reality says another, Not being able to understand the phrase inscribed on the Statue of Liberty, even when it is explained simply... things like that.
Once we start incarcerating a few of the more rabid ones for being rabid ones, I think the rest will return to their hidden holes and await the time when we flush them all out and make them accountable for their racism and classism (assuming we ever decide to do something about that stuff as well).
It will never happen, but since dreaming about a future is not worth much these days, I can certain dream in more fantastical ways, can't I?

(13,939 posts)We are up against a Russian propaganda operation that overshadows Pravda, TAAS and Izvestia, while at the same time making Goebbels laugh in the face of democracy from Hades.
The whirring sound in the background is the Greatest Generation spinning in their graves. This is possible because of the deliberate dumbing down that started in 1968, fostered by, you guessed it, the GOP.

(54,015 posts)The ones who make such comments to total strangers with the misguided assumption that everyone agrees with them. It's not like they're saying, "How about those Knicks?" or "Do you think it's going to snow?"
I worked in retail and restaurants for years and I was amazed at the occasional remarks, often racist, that customers would just throw out there as if we were members of the same exclusive club. Then I'd sometimes wonder what did they see in me that gave them such an impression? I don't know, maybe the fact that I was open and friendly, they thought I'd be receptive.

(949 posts)According to the official results, there were about 152 million votes cast in the last presidential election. The current imposter won by two million or by a margin of about 1.3%
..not the landslide it insists upon. Yes, there are a lot of morons that believe anything the cult leader says, but there are a lot of people who are disgusted with the current state of affairs including a growing block of voters who voted for this mess 18 months ago.
