Recall election for Palmer's mayor starts
PALMER, Alaska (KTUU) - Shall Steve Carrington be recalled from the Office of Mayor? Palmer residents started casting their answer to that question on Monday during the Special Election in the City of Palmer.
A petition to recall Mayor Steve Carrington started after former City Manager Stephen Jellie resigned late last year, just over 51 days after taking the job.
Palmer residents have until May 20 to cast their vote on Carrington’s future.
Palmer resident Cindy Hudgins created the recall petition, and at least 71 registered Palmer voters signed the petition, which triggered the special election.
