Man suing Trump puts president on notice: 'We're not going to let him get away with it'

Source: Raw Story

May 11, 2025 6:15PM ET

The state attorneys general who are suing Donald Trump will keep it up, according to one of them.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison appeared on MSNBC on Sunday, and was asked about holding Trump accountable in a court of law.

He said that he and the other state authorities will "continue to sue Donald Trump every time he breaks the law." He continued, further saying, "I don't wake up in the morning wanting to sue Donald Trump."

"But I'm willing to hold him accountable every single time that he is in violation of the law, whether it's attacking Americorps, whether it's trying to attack birthright citizenship or whether it's attacking federal spending," he added this weekend.

... evil sonofabitch to the woodshed for a Come-To-Jesus moment. He's been allowed to get away with too much for too long. Take. Him. Down. And then ALL of his coconspirators and enablers. No mercy. They haven't, and they wouldn't, show you any.

Since we can’t count on the Republicans in Congress to do the right thing, it’s up to We, the People. If we don’t use our collective power to fight Trump and his administration, there will be nothing left of our country.

That is Minnesota State Attorney Kieth Ellison, not some random 'man'.

(This message is for Raw Story, who feels that this elected official is some random person. Typical media trick, playing with wording to change the dynamic of the story.)

But I am glad Ellison was out in the media and no one else is covering us (or will only reluctantly cover what we are doing and then DU whines about "What are Democrats DOING???!111!!!1!!11!!!" and "DEMOCRATS AREN'T DOING ANYTHING!!!!11!!!1!!!).

I feel the issue is the programming we have been fed for over eighty years. We have been told that we have to have results! There has to be 'progress'! Now, I agree with those sentiments, but I also know that we are doing lots of things to protest and fight for change and the media will not cover this because they don't want to upset the man-baby in the White House. So, we don't actually know what is happening unless the people involved tell us directly.

I feel that the Democratic Party needs to really push for communication with each other, outside of the regular channels of media. We are sitting and expecting others to do something, and (of course) so is everyone else. We need to understand that the entire public media (there are exceptions, of course) is up the orange gibbon's ass and is too afraid to tell the truth about what is really happening. We need to call them out at every opportunity when they do crap like this.

And, we need to stop pretending that using established means to change things is going to work, but that's another debate for another time.

Most of us have video capable phones. If we see something, we should record and post it widely and we should repost when appropriate. Being involved in local movements can put us in the proximity of events that should be recorded and shared.

They HAVE been.

They are putting videos of their town halls and other encounters on Instagram (which i don't have an account for), TikTok (which they were trying to ban and I don't have an account on even though my niece keeps sending me stuff on it), Facebook (another that I don't have an account for), and the various other social media apps like Xitter, Threads, & Blue Sky (none of which I have accounts on but will "read" the web versions if they are available and allow me to).

When I do searches on these people, all kinds of stuff comes up - but linking to social media, most of which won't embed on DU.

E.g., even the 80 year old Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (who was part of the group who tried to tour the NJ ICE facility in Newark) has been (or at least her younger staff) posting videos and whatnot on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/repbonnie/?hl=en

Many on DU (probably due to the age skew) either don't have accounts to see these or refuse to get them, and then huff and puff waiting for them to show up on MSNBC or maybe CNN or one of the OTA broadcast network stations (if they haven't already cut the cord to those), and if they don't, then that means "DEMOCRATS AREN'T DOING ANYTHING!!!11!!1!!".

However, those platforms are corrupted and should not be used. I prefer we start new ones. There are plenty of developers who are also ardent Democrats. We need to woo them. We need to get them on board to create a platform that we can use that allows encrypted, special channels for organizing as well as the means to post media for general perusal. It will need to be strictly mentored and overseen, however, thanks to all the rethug programming slime.

This is the 21st century, we have the means to do this. Just stop trying to make all the denials about costs. Who cares? Worrying about costs its going to ply right into the hands of the percentage that has all the costs anyway. Let's start trying to bring ourselves as well as our resources into the effort, and stop worrying about what it will cost.

Otherwise, we might as well try to take out ads on broadcast radio, which is tantamount to preaching to the choir.
