Journalists from Danwatch and "Der Spiegel" have revealed the leak of two million documents concerning Russia's secret nuclear bases.
The documents show extensive modernization of military infrastructure, including the construction of new barracks, guard towers, and underground tunnels.
Experts suggest the leak could expose vulnerabilities to attack, potentially forcing Russia into costly reconstruction of its bases.

Reportedly this is over 2 million pages of documentation. As with everything coming out of Russia, the provenance is unclear.

That's one theory. European intelligence seems to have snagged it, looked at it, and they've given it to publishers. European intelligence has [probably been hanging onto this for a while, poring over the details and know by now whether or not it's genuine.
In any case, publication now will embarrass Putin if the files are genuine and make him think he's put one over on the evil west if they are not. Chances are also very good that the facility was either not built or scaled down to a tenth the size indicated by the drawings so that contractors could buy villas in Italy, Switzerland, or the French Riviera. That's how things work in Russia.
