Trump Is Canceling $3.7 Billion in Clean Energy Projects
Source: Bloomberg
"The Energy Department is canceling some $3.7 billion in government support for clean energy projects it said did not warrant continued backing from the Trump administration.
The agency said the move came after the agency found the projects failed to advance the energy needs of the American people, were not economically viable and would not generate a positive return on investment of taxpayer dollars.
Sixteen of the 24 projects were awarded during the Biden administration between Election Day and President Donald Trumps Jan. 20 inauguration, the department said in a statement.
Among the canceled awards, according to a list provided by the Energy Department, was $331 million to Exxon Mobil Corp. for a hydrogen project at the companys Baytown, Texas, refinery; $170 million to Kraft Heinz Co. for a series of clean energy projects; and $500 million to Heidelberg Materials AG for a low-carbon cement project."

That held such promise. One if not so many paths to a livable planet for the future.
Making cement as it is dine now is a giant source of CO2. We can spare the world immense CO 2 increase by making the limestone sustainable rather than wasting energy to rip it out of the Earth.
Well I found a new level of contempt for that man today. Didnt know that was possible.
Whose interests is he serving, cockroaches and ants that may survive?
Oooh. Loathing. I do not like this emotion. Unpleasant.

(559 posts)His obsession with coal is a perfect example, the EPA did not kill coal usage, solar did not kill coal, GAS killed coal. It's easier to extract, there is more of it and it's cheaper. It just so happens it also is cleaner but he doesn't care about anything other than someone told him the EPA killed coal and since he's a stupid old man he believes it and wants coal even though nobody including the energy companies want it.
The other clean energy stuff he hates (except for thinking windmills are ugly) is for the same reason, he's just a stupid old man who doesn't like progress. If you need any further proof look at his recent comments about stealth; he actually said he doesn't believe it works because he doesn't understand it.
