Trump announces he's firing 'highly partisan' art director from Smithsonian

Source: Raw Story

President Donald Trump announced the firing of the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery director.

The president terminated Kim Sajet from the post she's held since 2013, saying the Nigerian-born, Australia-raised Dutch citizen was too in thrall to the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion to oversee the museum's collection of about 26,000 objects that draws about 2 million yearly visitors.

"Upon the request and recommendation of many people, I am herby terminating the employment of Kim Sajet as Director of the National Portrait Gallery," Trump posted Friday afternoon on his social site, Truth Social. "She is a highly partisan person, and a strong supporter of DEI, which is totally inappropriate for her position. Her replacement will be named shortly. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

"of many people" is Trump-speak for "one." In the case of purchasing Greenland, that person was billionaire businessman Ronald Lauder.

Before her appointment by the Smithsonian's executive leadership (no Senate confirmation required), Kim Sajet had extensive experience in arts management, including serving as president and CEO of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and holding leadership positions at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

In other words, she was an intelligent and accomplished woman, ergo a threat to TACO's fragile ego, and she had to be fired. I imagine she'll be replaced by a MAGA man who can't spell "art" and will replace works deemed too DEI with Norman Rockwell paintings.

While I have no opinions about how she was doing her job, I am still outraged that taco man continues to attempt to dismantle the cultural and intellectual institutions of our country.

I have met banana slugs with more taste and higher IQs than that thing currently squatting in the Oval Office.

2. Trump's definition of "highly partisan" is anyone whose lips aren't permanently attached to his saggy ass.

She said in a recent interview that his portrait is done but won't be put on display until he's out of office per tradition. It then says there is a photo of it with a description below that talks about him losing to Biden and leading the insurection.

Everything she did was correct but she clearly decided putting herself in the crosshairs was worth her job. She waved a red flag in front of wild bull.

11. He's trying to acquire

possession or control over any institution that has a dime attached to it. He is truly scraping off every cent he can, while he can. Firing this person over "DEI" issues and replacing her with someone that he can control is just a power grab.

Increasingly, it feels like we are getting bombed to rubble. The damage these maniacs are inflicting will not be repaired in my lifetime. I'm going to come back as a ghost and get the bastard.

I hope those that are getting fired know how much they are appreciated. I have fond memories as a child going to museums on school field trips. Stuff like that stays with you.

All this over a portrait?? He's as ugly as they come. When he dies, we're going to throw his image on a bonfire so we never have to see the black ugliness of his soul ever again.

... The Smithsonian is NOT a government agency, part of the Executive Branch, or in any way subject to the malicious whims of the psychopath currently smearing his excrement all over the Oval Office. So how the bloody fuck can he fire Kim Sajet?
The Republican-controlled House and Senate have already demonstrated their utter contempt for the rule of law and common human decency, so we cannot expect them to do what their paid to do, which is to exercise checks and balances on the careening wrecking ball that is the Trump regime.
It is also a snipe hunt trying to find a court not perverted by a Trump-humping asshole pretending to be a nonpartisan judge. And as for the Supreme Court... well, even the judgement of one of the supposed Liberals on the Court has to be called into question after a recent ruling, and forget about the Sinister Six countermanding their Lord and Master.
Let's hope there's a judge out there somewhere with cojones to cut Trumpty-Dumpty off at the knees, and restore Ms. Sajet to her position.
Trump's only a year older than me, but I hope I live long enough to piss on his grave.
