Boulder Police are investigating a report of an attack with multiple victims Sunday afternoon.

Miri Kornfeld, an organizer with Run For Their Lives, which holds weekly walks to raise awareness of Israeli hostages, told 9NEWS the group was walking on Pearl Street on Sunday afternoon. When they arrived at the historic courthouse in the area of 13th and Pearl streets, a man was waiting there with bottles, Kornfeld said. He threw the bottles, and five people were burned, including one woman who was badly burned and had to roll on the ground to put the fire out, she said.

On the domestic front, in Boulder, Colorado a march in solidarity with the hostages still being held by Hamas in Gaza was attacked by an individual throwing one or more Molotov Cocktails into the marchers which burned several people, reportedly including children. A shirtless man who did this, Mohamad Soliman, has been taken into custody. He reportedly shouted, in a marked accent' 'End Zionism!' and pro Palestinian propaganda. Phone videos captured the scene, and the arrest of Soliman.

17. FBI investigating report of 'targeted terror attack' in Colorado mall; suspect arrested

Authorities said a male suspect was taken into custody on June 1 after multiple people were set on fire at a pedestrian mall in Boulder, Colorado, in what the FBI director described as a "targeted terror attack."

"We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado," FBI Director Kash Patel said on X. "Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available."

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said in a statement that the attack appeared to be a "hate crime given the group that was targeted." Weiser said the group meets weekly at the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder to "call for the release of the hostages in Gaza."

"Hate has no place in Colorado," Weiser added. "We all have the right to peaceably assemble and the freedom to speak our views. But these violent acts—which are becoming more frequent, brazen and closer to home—must stop and those who commit these horrific acts must be fully held to account."

BOULDER, Colo. (TNND) — The suspect in a “targeted terror attack” in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday was in the U.S. illegally and entered the country in August 2022 with a B2 visa that expired in February 2023, the Department of Homeland Security reported.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin added that the suspect filed for asylum in September 2022.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, of El Paso County, has been charged after injuring eight with a makeshift flamethrower on Sunday and yelling "Free Palestine" at a group of people participating in a pro-Israel demonstration, according to authorities.
