Norway investigates former PM Jagland over alleged Epstein links

Source: BBC

A special Norwegian police unit which is analysing newly released Epstein files in the US said the 75-year-old was suspected of "aggravated corruption".

Police said they had already asked the country's foreign ministry to lift his immunity, which he enjoys because of his past role as a senior foreign diplomat.

Jagland is also a former head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee and spent 10 years as secretary general of the Council of Europe.

The released documents show that he had stayed with Epstein in New York in 2018, as well as in Epstein's Paris apartment in 2015 and 2018.

Some of their reported exchanges have caused a stir in Norway.

"I have been in Tirana (Albania) extraordinary girls," Jagland wrote in an email to Epstein dated May 2012.

"I can't keep it going only with young women as you know," he said in January 2013.
