Rosatom Says Situation at Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Keeps Deteriorating

Source: US News & World Report/Reuters

March 28, 2026, at 9:38 a.m.

MOSCOW, March 28 - The situation at Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant continues to deteriorate and attacks pose a direct threat to nuclear safety, the ‌head of Russia's state ‌nuclear corporation Rosatom said on Saturday after another strike near the facility.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Friday that Iran had informed it of another strike in the vicinity of Bushehr, the third such incident in 10 days, with no damage to the operating reactor and no release of radiation reported.

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Saturday called for "unequivocal and firm condemnation" of the attack near Bushehr.

"We hope that, by receiving timely and objective information directly from the Iranian authorities about what is happening on the ground, the Director General of the IAEA will be able to convey a simple message to the aggressors immediately and unequivocally: ‘It is time for you to stop!'," its spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

Apparently Russia is operating that facility in Iran and has evacuated their staff.

(Reuters usually throws up paywalls after about 4 - 5 articles so when I can, I try to find outlets that use their wire services to republish)

did to the Chernobyl facility and the Zaporizhian nuclear plant, the Russians are now clutching their pearls? The Orcs need to get hell out of Ukraine. Maybe then they'd have more credibility.

On edit: Pootin and his lackeys have threatened nuclear war for years now. And we're supposed to believe the Orcs are the good guys concerned with nuclear catastrophe? Not sure what is really going on at this facility in Iran, but could be Russian disinfo or if real, an inside Russian job.

They say it's been struck twice.

They started evacuating two days ago.
