Source: msn.com

Story by Mike Stunson, USA TODAY NETWORK • 2h •

Saturday's Fourth of July fireworks on the National Mall in Washington DC could be the largest ever staged, according to President Donald Trump, but officials are also warning of health concerns alongside the spectacle.

Freedom 250 organizers say the July 4 show will feature 850,000 fireworks shells launched from 10 sites. With it comes the possibility of "a significant amount of smoke," National Mall and Memorial Parks says.

Here is what experts say.

Washington, D.C., will host a record Fourth of July show, with 860,000 fireworks launched from sites across the city over a 40-minute display.

Should you wear a mask on July 4 in Washington DC? Poor air quality expected

The Washington Post obtained a draft air-quality analysis that stated people should "avoid prolonged exposure" to the air pollution the fireworks are expected to bring to the National Mall.

The National Park Service advised attendees should go as far as wearing an N95 mask while outside and to stay "indoors as much as possible," according to the Post....................

2. 850,000 fireworks..isn't that excessive? Why not a laser light show? Less pollution and better air quality

Wet fireworks that fail to ignite. Or improper wiring and the all fire at once. Or there will be rain and thunderstorms with low clouds. Or an ember will fall back to earth in a dry area and start a large fire.

Or people will get so frustrated with the long wait that they start chanting: We want fireworks! We want fireworks!

It's just going to be a shitshow. --- I'll have to read about it the next morning because it starts about 2 hours past my bedtime (and I imagine that many adults, and most children, will be well into their 2nd dream by then.)

ZZZzzzz!
