(101,302 posts)I don't eat shrimp anymore but when I see shrimp and a cat now I often remember back when my nephew and my sister lived with me, he was three at the time, some 40+ years ago.
I don't recall the occasion but we were celebrating something and bought shrimp for dinner. The nephew was a messy boy and had his own space in our large kitchen... we had a cat named Mythras whom he called everything from 'missmus' to 'christmas'!
We cooked everything up and got him into his chair and gave him two shrimp to try. He was skeptical and picked one up, sniffed it and took one bite out of the back of the shrimp, made a face, threw it down on his plate with disgust and said, FISH!!
We let him share it with Mythras as we laughed for quite some time about it. We knew from then on that he was not going to enjoy shrimp with us for a while. To this day I am not sure if he likes shrimp.
