Why Edward the 8th and Wallace Simpsons should have been executed for treason

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by GP6971 (a host of the The DU Lounge forum).

Edward 8th and Wallace Simpson should have been executed for not just merely their Nazi sympathies, but Edward actually encouraged the bombing London during the Blitz so Britain would sue for peace and he would assume the throne under Nazi rule.

"Yet another damning piece of evidence read that the “Duke believes with certainty that continued heavy bombing will make England ready for peace.”

She had her culpability as well.

But on our side, the amount of Americans that were equally guilty of promoting Nazism--from Charles Lindberg on down--is astonishing.
