Speaking of Girl Scout cookies. I remember going house to house for people to order by myself. How society has changed.

What things did you do that todays children would not be allowed to do?

1. My sister and I (both quite young--probably 5 and 8 yo) would walk across town (small town)

playing in the puddles and skipping along the sidewalks. We would walk quite a way to the drug store and the church we attended "bible school" and then home. No way would one do that today--even in that same small town, adjacent as it is to a much larger city.

I would deliver the cookies but my daughters had to made the sales.

I have some partners/attorneys in my office who send a firm wide email to sell cookies I prefer having my daughters go in person to make the sales

People were so happy to see us! We also did the delivery together. We order them online from neighborhood Girl Scouts now.

Unguarded propellers spinning at 10,000 rpm, cans of methanol fuel and toxic paints and glues. Oh, and with no adult supervision

Walked a couple miles home from school down railroad tracks.

I carried a cardboard container which held probably 12 boxes of assorted cookies. It had a handle on it for easy carrying for a little 8-9 year old. It was so many years ago I cannot remember how many different varieties I carried.
