Good morning my DU family,

When it comes to "family" there's a lot I missed out on growing up in group homes and foster homes most of my childhood and therefore I have much to learn.

As I spent last weekend with Rorys family, I experienced much confusion as to my place in it because I felt like and was a stranger to so many in the room.

As difficult as it can be sometimes to feel lost in the midst of so many, to feel confused as to the validity of my place in that element, I have gained faith in one little nugget of faith that has never failed me to this point.

I am growing and learning something right now. Until I awaken to what that is, I'll be ok knowing that I will wake up from this moment in a better place, one with a fuller awareness and understanding and I really look forward to that day with a full faith in its certainty.

When I feel completely lost, I am learning the most.

Please give us a day filled with opportunities to grow and learn, and if the results aren't plain, to trust that it's happening anyway.

Have a great day firmly planted in the belief that today will offer us much to learn.
Love, John

husband died, I feel like half of me is missing. I know this will pass, but I still tear up or cry when people ask about him. If I feel alone I pray and it makes me feel connected. I grew up with both parents, but never felt like a family. I was an only child born to parents in their forties who let me know I was an unplanned inconvenience in their lives.

DU feels like a big family of kindred spirits. Sending virtual hugs
May everyone enjoy a joyous day of peace, love and laughter.

But I talk to Rory most days, I talk to Snuggles every day, multiple times, and because I do that so comfortably, it really has helped alleviate the aloneness that I still feel.

During the various events we would always share by phone, like these playoffs with the Wild and Timberwolves, I have to talk to him, otherwise it would be near unbearable.

Give yourself permission to try things and if they work, there are certain sign language messages for people who won't try to understand, you know, the one finger salute, etc...lol.
Peace will find you moment by moment dear.
