Before winding up, we take one more look at Maddie's
monumental roll from last month.

Around The Farm ~
Yesterday, Laurie began mowing her big five-acre pasture. Regular
cutting , she said, keeps the weeds down.

Yesterday afternoon Shadow let loose a bark barrage
at a squirrel in a tree.

(Never did see the squirrel . . .)
Mid-afternoon KC spread out on his windowsill and
took a look around.

Last evening we saw moonrise after sunset.

Following last night's thunderstorms, sunshine returned this morning.

It's been a good day since.
A Female (at left) and Male House Finch perched for a bit.

Turns out, there's a Goldflame Honeysuckle vine growing in the yard.
(according to google images, that is.)

I spied a Killdeer this morning. In its scientific name, Charadrius vociferus,
"vociferus" means "shouting" or "crying out", which it certainly does.

Laurie, late today, finished her big pasture.

While Maddie-Pete grazed on blissfully.

Shadow's right Bayard. Laurie said the same thing. I think I'd bark too if I could. Thanks for straightening me out.

Thank you George. Great as always. Have you ever run over a bees nest with the mower? It really pisses them off.

Laurie's the mower. I asked, she said no. I'll bet it upsets 'em! You ever run one over?

More than once. They got up my pant legs once and were stinging. Took pants off at olympic speed.

But Shadow says you are totally wrong, Dad. I would never get that excited about a mere bird. Its one of those ravaging SQUIRRELS!

Will bite on the hands too. An entire hive of moving honey bees rammed us once while baling hay. Only got one sting but thousands were bumping into us. Stay well.
