Former National Security Adviser to U.S. House Majority Leader
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is on a lightning tour of Persian Gulf allied states, trying to shore up support for the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding (MOU). With talks still in progress, Iran's lead negotiators and President Trump are making conflicting claims about the content of the MOU. Despite American claims, Iran says there are no plans for U.N. nuclear inspections until the final negotiations. And, contrary to Iranian claims, Trump and Rubio say there is no way Iran will exert any control over the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, at home, Trump is angry at the Senate Republicans who just voted with Democrats to stop Trump from resuming the war with Iran, calling the vote "poorly timed," "meaningless," and "a comfort to the enemy." Where is all this leading, and how is it viewed among the Persian Gulf states? Georgetown professor Mehran Kamrava joins Christiane from Doha in Qatar, and Daniel Silverberg, former U.S. National Security Adviser to the House Majority Leader, joins from Washington, D.C.

Co-Chair, A Place for Us All
As negotiators meet for a fifth round of talks today to finally end the war that has ravaged Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is rejecting the Lebanon part of the deal. Lebanon is demanding a full IDF withdrawal. But with the approach of Israeli elections, and amid questions about Netanyahu's reelection prospects, a new party is hoping to play a role in the future of the country. A Place for Us All is evenly split between Arab and Jewish Israelis. It's the brainchild of Alon-Lee Green and Rula Daood, who also co-founded Standing Together, a grassroots group that has spent years working towards a peaceful coexistence. Daood and Green join Christiane from Tel Aviv.

REPORT: TOURISM IN CUBA
Cuba's once-robust tourism industry has been gutted by U.S. sanctions and an oil blockade — all part of the Trump administration's pressure campaign against the Cuban government. The sharp decline in visitors has wiped out a key source of revenue for Cuba's hospitality workers, and many citizens fear even harder times ahead. Patrick Oppman reports from Havana.

Michael Auslin
Author, “National Treasure”
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal . . . ." These are some of the best-known words in American history. Michael Auslin, author of "National Treasure" and a fellow at the Hoover Institution, argues that the Declaration of Independence remains a unifying touchstone for Americans. Auslin joins Walter Isaacson to explain.
