Charlestown election settled by concession

CHARLESTOWN — A concession made by one candidate cleared the way for winners to be declared Tuesday night in the Charlestown election. Tom Costanzi, Renee Capano and Tracey Moore will be sworn into office soon.

Felecia Kennedy officially made a concession speech to the board of town commissioners, encouraging them to elect Moore to the seat. Then she called the town out for what she described as "the irresponsible actions of town officials."

"All election officials need to remember you work as a team," Kennedy said. "You were not showing team leadership."

Kennedy came in third in the election, and Moore was fourth by one vote. However, the results were called into question after it was determined that an ineligible voter was allowed to cast a ballot.
