New mayor voted in, May 3 election results for Mount Pleasant
The unofficial results for the City of Mount Pleasant from the May 3rd election are in and they are as follows: Mayor:
• Wesley Lyon - 530 (57.11%)
• Tracy Craig, Sr. - 398 (42.89%) Place One:
• Trey Baker - 463 (49.65%)
• Debbie Corbell - 464 (50.05%) Place Two:
• Melanie Knight - 539 (58.71%)
• BJ Andrews - 379 (41.29%) The results show that Wesley Lyon II will be the new mayor.
Lyon put out a statement after the results were released, “Thank you, Mount Pleasant! Your support through this campaign has been nothing short of inspiring, and this victory belongs to every one of you. I stand here humbled and energized, ready to serve you as your new Mayor.”
