Midland Public Schools bond fails

The Midland Public Schools $285 million bond proposal on Tuesday was soundly defeated.

Unofficial results from the Midland County website show that with counting complete in all 20 precincts, 10,940 voters (67.96%) voted "no" on the proposal and 5,157 voters (32.04%) voted "yes."

The proposal was defeated in every one of the 20 precincts.

A total of 43,965 registered voters were eligible to cast ballots in the city of Midland and in Homer, Ingersoll, Larkin, Lincoln, Midland, and Mills townships. About 16,100 ballots were cast or 37% of registered voters participated.
