School bond proposals pass in Ferndale, Redford Union and Southgate
Bond proposals for Ferndale Public Schools, Redford Union Schools and Southgate Community Schools, as well as a measure to renew the city of Ferndale's operating millage, passed Tuesday, while Lamphere and Mount Clemens school bond proposals failed and two charter amendments in Clawson were shot down, according to unofficial election results.
Wyandotte also reelected Mayor Robert DeSana, with all five precincts reporting, unofficial results show.
About 70.1% of voters approved the Ferndale school bond proposal and 29.9% were against it. The vote for the millage request in Ferndale passed 58%-42%.
Clawson voters considered a charter amendment to continue to limit the city government to four City Council members and a mayor. About 36% of voters supported the measure and 64% opposed it, with 100% of precincts reporting. A second amendment would have allowed council members to be elected to four-year terms every two years. About 37% of voters supported that measure and 63% opposed with all precincts reporting late Tuesday.
