Michigan Medicine, Blue Cross Blue Shield reach long-term contract agreement
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Michigan Medicine have reached a new long-term contract agreement, the organizations announced Wednesday.
The agreement will maintain in-network status for Michigan Medicines academic medical center, affiliated facilities, clinics and physicians, ensuring continued access for patients covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
Blue Cross is pleased to reach this long-term agreement with our partners at Michigan Medicine ensuring continued access to the systems medical care services for our members, while advancing the affordability of their care and coverage, said Tricia A. Keith, president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
The two organizations said they will continue meeting over the coming weeks to finalize details ahead of a June 30 renewal deadline.
