Marquette County recount complete: election results stand

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette County Board of Canvassers held an official recount Thursday for the May 5 election.

The recount was held at the Marquette Township Hall. The only issue was the Marquette Area Public School District’s $60 million bond proposal.

The recount was done in just under two hours and found all vote totals matching the original count. That means the bond proposal passed.

Private citizen Margaret Brumm paid $2,000 for the recount, $500 per precinct. Marquette City Clerk Kyle Whitney says the recount went smoothly.

But 2 hours for 4 precincts isn’t long

It should not cost so much though
