St. Paul, MINN. (Valley News Live) - Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has endorsed Angie Craig in her bid for U.S. Senate, giving Craig the backing of both Twin Cities mayors as early voting gets underway in Minnesota.
Frey announced his support just days after early voting began in the state. St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her endorsed Craig last October.
Angie is relentless. Shes tough, shes tested, and she is exactly who we need in Washington. I met Angie while working in furtherance of marriage equality. She was a fighter for justice then, and will never quit fighting for whats right. Minneapolis needs a partner who can deliver on everything from affordable housing to safety, and a champion who will hold the powerful accountable and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Minnesota facing the tough challenges ahead. Im honored to support her candidacy for United States Senate, Frey said.

(131,847 posts)Craig voted for the odious Laken Riley act and a resolution supporting ICE but all of a sudden changed her tune when ICE occupied Minneapolis and it seemed to be politically advantageous to object (as she should have) while conveniently ignoring her previous positions. And her PAC's anti-Flanagan ads are borderline libelous.
question everything
(52,644 posts)Her opponent has nothing to say except that regrettable vote.
Craig has successfully represented urban, rural and farm communities.
Her opponent spent all her political career in the Metro area. Does she understand what the needs of rural communities are? Or does she, like many on DU say f*ck rural American?

(131,847 posts)than any other elected official, both in Minneapolis and on the reservations. She's probably more familiar with rural poverty than most. Obviously I'd vote for Craig if she were the nominee, but she strikes me as a squishy centrist piggybacking on progressive causes when it's convenient.

(perhaps intentionally) "Fake" looking.....Rep.Craig does not dis-avow the ads..

(673 posts)Initially it came to my attention that NorthStar Dawn PAC was
reported to to be affiliated with AIPAC, or an offshoot!!
I cannot verify that this is true.
Rep Angie Craig does not take AIPAC money now. She did take it
in the past.
I apologize, in part, for this conflating those two PACs, and will
try and do better in this regard in the future....
