Jackson County lawmakers override Frank White's vetoes, including recall election

JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. — The Jackson County Legislature on Friday overrode three recent vetoes from County Executive Frank White, including one regarding White's own recall election.

The three vetoes involved a proposed countywide special election in November 2025 to amend the county charter and create an elected assessor position, an extension of the senior property tax credit, and a special recall election for White.

Legislators overrode White's veto on the recall election by an 8-0 vote, with Legislator Megan Smith abstaining.

Smith proposed an ordinance that would hold the recall election in November.
