Longtime Select Board member faces first-time challenger in Williamstown election

SHANA DIXON

Dixon runs a small property management company in Troy, N.Y., and has lived in Williamstown for seven years. As the chair of the Diversity, Inclusion and Racial Equity Committee, she says she tries to create a welcoming atmosphere, and criticized the board for being dismissive of dissenting voices.

JANE PATTON

The longtime Select Board member never meant to run for another three year-term, as she’s finishing out her 12th year on the Select Board. But with a group of new or relatively new members expected, Patton sees an opportunity in the board's one-year seat to provide the institutional knowledge imparted to her when she was first elected.
