Protest erupts as ICE arrests man at Bushwick hospital

Two people protesting were arrested after they ignored police commands to leave the area, the NYPD says.

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A large crowd grew outside Wyckoff Heights Medical Center on Saturday night as ICE agents arrested a man.

Dramatic video shows ICE agents dragging a man outside of the hospital.

An ICE spokesperson said that agents arrested Chidozie Wilson Okeke, a Nigerian man "with previous arrests for assault and criminal drug possession" who they say overstayed his visa.

Prohibit funds from being used to conduct enforcement near sensitive locations, including medical facilities, schools, childcare facilities, churches, polling places, courts, etc.

Consider that an immigrant, undocumented or otherwise, who contracts a communicable disease, would avoid going to a hospital for care because they might get snatched up by ICE?
