Seminole residents approve sales tax to fund sewer plant improvements

SEMINOLE, Okla. — Residents of the city of Seminole approved a sales tax to fund improvements to the sewer plant on Tuesday.

The Seminole City Council is working to pass a budget that includes contingencies for a proposed one-eighth cent sales tax for sewer plant improvements. City officials said the budget is structured with the assumption that the tax will be approved.

If the tax failed, modifications to the budget would have been necessary to accommodate the funding shortfall.
