My CD player is dying and I need a new one.
It seems they all crap out after two or three years.
Any suggestions on a make or brand that will last longer?
Thanks!

(32,976 posts)I have a Google Music account ($12/mo). I stream it on home BT speakers, in my truck, or using earbuds. I can listen to my "likes" playlist or play a particular playlist. For my 73 YO ears, this works great.
On edit - I started with 45's, then LP's (early 70s), then 8 tracks, than cassettes, than CD's. Too much work. now.

(27,123 posts)If you have a library (I have a big library courtesy of a thrift store bonanza folio) live with the fact that they are all junk (and cheap) and get a usb player ( they all have audio jacks) until it quits. Then get another.
Or get a fancy DVD player with long warranty.
Classical music is free on the internet, no ads. But CD's are good. Some stuff is just cheap throwaway. I do not mention audiophile stuff. Not on my radar.
Take card of them. They do NOT last forever.

(42,907 posts)If you've got a lot to back up, get Blu-Ray. I try to only use USB drives for media now; that way there only has to be one working drive in the house for multiple computers.
Downside: READING from media is s-l-o-w, compared to SSD.
