COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Many Colorado Springs District 11 teachers voted to strike this Fall.

On Thursday night, the Colorado Springs Education Association announced that the strike passed with a 91% vote from members. D11 has approximately 1,800 teachers in total. According to CSEA, 1150 of them are union members.

The vote came down days after the school board was presented with a new employee handbook. The district voted to end its decades-long contract, the Master Agreement, with the teachers’ union in December.

The Colorado Springs Education Association said this would be a one-day strike over unfair labor practices, but did not clarify when exactly it would happen.
