US Savings Bonds

Just a question I would like to ask a DU'er.

Are US savings bonds on the chopping block too??? I am in possession of two. Could I have these redeemed?

Thanks

the FDIC, are our bank accounts safe now? Trump has also killed the stock and bond markets. All things considered
US Bonds are about as safe as any alternative.

And if it does we are going to have far bigger problems. I am US govt bond heavy on my portfolio - never considered default risk was a possibility.

I have some older I-Bonds that are currently earning a good total rate since their initial base interest was quite a bit higher than current base rate so I may hold them to maturity which is 30 years. Best to check the Treasury website to find out current value if cashed in.
