President Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy Appoints Members to the United States Department of Transportation Advisory Board

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today announced the appointment of 12 members to the USDOT Advisory Board. The selected members are leaders in infrastructure development, finance, project delivery, transportation operations, economics, law, and policy. They will provide Secretary Duffy with strategic recommendations and high-level guidance on how USDOT can further modernize America’s transportation systems. The Board's expertise will be instrumental in shaping policies and initiatives that drive safety, efficiency, resiliency, and bring about a Golden Age of Transportation.

“We’re bringing 12 business leaders, industry experts, and innovators together with decades of experience in the field who will provide invaluable insights to deliver results for the American people,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy. “This team will be essential to executing President Donald Trump’s bold agenda to build big, beautiful things again and I could not be more excited for what is to come.”

The following individuals have been appointed to the USDOT Advisory Board for a term of two years:

• Peter Bartek, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, FTS Rail
• Michael Capasso, Chief Executive Officer, C.A.C. Industries
• Stephen M. Dickson, Former Administrator, Federal Aviation Administration
• Todd Ehmann, Senior International Captain, United Airlines
• David Horner, Partner, Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP
• Steven Lefton, Executive Chair, Kimley-Horn
• Brigham McCown, Chair and Founder, Alliance for Innovation and Infrastructure
• Francis Sacr, Principal, Lorne Infrastructure and Former Executive Director, Gateway Development Commission
• Trent Morse, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Presidential Personnel, Executive Office of the President
• Mark Tedesco, Chief Executive Officer, Academy Bus
• Robert Valentine, Senior Managing Director, Macquarie Group

Additional Background:

USDOT established the Advisory Board in May 2025 and simultaneously solicited membership nominations. The USDOT Advisory Board is dedicated to: (1) developing strategic recommendations for infrastructure modernization and expansion; (2) identifying key investment opportunities in transportation technology and innovation; (3) providing insights into regulatory and policy improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce bureaucratic obstacles; and (4) advising on public-private partnerships to maximize funding and impact.

The Advisory Board was established as a discretionary committee by the Secretary of Transportation in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) of 1972, as amended (Title 5 of the United States Code (5 U.S.C. ch. 10)).
