USA More Tariffs Coming - Joe Blogs
In this video I talk about announcement that Donald Trump intends to impose tariffs on pharmaceutical products imported into the USA. This policy is designed to encourage the pharma industry to produce more medicines and equipment in the USA. The new tariffs will result in higher prices for US consumers and in many situations such as cancer treatments there are no other alternative options as the medicines are protected and cannot be copied by other companies. The pharmaceutical industry utilises a global supply chain with a lot of production in countries such as India and China. It can take up to 5 years to build and approve a new facility and the immediate impact of the tariffs will be higher prices for all imported medicines and equipment.
