The Roller Coaster Ride of NATO's Defense Spending Increase (Feat. Radmila Shekerinska) - William Spaniel



NATO's spending goal of 5% of GDP appeared to hit a snag earlier this week when Spain announced that it would cap defense allotments at 2.1%. The resulting rounds of negotiations have resulted in an unclear policy that will ultimately go in front of NATO allies at the summit. Today, I spent ten minutes talking to Radmila Shekerinska, NATO's Deputy Secretary General, to try to get a better understanding of what is going on here.
