The US has confirmed that a new system for providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza through private companies is being prepared, as Israel's blockade continues for a third month.
The US ambassador to Israel said "distribution centres" protected by private security contractors would provide food and other supplies to up to a million people initially, as part of an effort to prevent Hamas from stealing aid.
Mike Huckabee denied Israel would take part in aid delivery or distribution, but said its forces would secure the centres' perimeters.
The confirmation comes as more details emerged about the controversial plan, which UN agencies have reiterated they will not co-operate with because it appears to "weaponise" aid.

(2,625 posts)This "plan" is designed to create even more suffering, while providing a fig-leaf for the cruelty. The final objective being the Final Solution of eliminating and driving out Palestinians from their homeland.
Only especially cruel and sadistic minds would devise the following:
Allow in only 10% of what was allowed in during the ceasefire (even that is supposed to feed only 60% of the population - and what will the other 40% eat?), reduce the distribution centres to only 1%! of existing centres, allow only one member of all families to pick up aid FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY for a week(?) (with no transportation, they are only allowed to WALK), be subject to face-recognition software while the IDF surrounds the facilities (no doubt "mistakes and "accidents" will discourage many from even trying) - I wonder what "lists" will be used to determine who is not eligible for aid? Government and civic employees, police, civil defense, medical workers, and who else? What percentage of the people will be automatically denied aid - 40%??
All of this when there are tonnes and tonnes of aid waiting at the crossings for two months now.
Israel says it is to prevent Hamas from stealing aid. Oddly enough, humanitarian agencies have said that is not happening.
Any responses towing Israel's bullshit and rationalizing this cruelty will be ignored.

(2,625 posts)I say forcible, since all aid hubs will be located in the south.
What is more forcible than forcing people to choose between living if they transfer, or dying if they don't?
